Eagle Nest Bar
Unpretentious Old Town Deck Facing Wat Arun & the River
Our take
Up a narrow staircase is the best head-on view of Wat Arun in Bangkok — Eagle Nest is less a bar than a viewing platform with drinks service. Everybody comes here to photograph the prang lighting up across the river, which tells you exactly how to use it: come early, order simple, stay through blue hour. The temple does the heavy lifting; the bar wisely stays out of its way.
Insider tip
Walk-ins only and barely thirty seats, so be on the stairs by 5PM. Eat afterwards: the kitchen keeps it simple, and you come here for the view more than the menu.
