Our take
The classic Old Town formula at its most polished: a small black-and-white terrace above the river with Wat Arun straight ahead, Wat Pho at your back, and a bar that takes its cocktails seriously. Seeing the sun drop on the Temple of Dawn is one of Bangkok's great fifteen minutes. Drinks-and-dusk perfection; dinner is optional.
Insider tip
Though far lower than the Sukhumvit skybars, this Old Town terrace has one of the most photogenic sunsets in Bangkok. Book ahead for a sunset table, as the small rooftop fills fast.
